Comic Book Wednesday: Introducing Saturday Morning Snack Attack!

27 Jun

K is for K-MoSince Wednesday is the day that new comic books come out, I generally use Wednesday as my go-to day for working on comic books. I figure, since I’ve already got comics on the brain, it’s not hard to work up the gumption to make sure all my comic projects are chugging along nicely.

As part of the weekly process, I’d like to bring Comic Book Wednesday to the blog and document some of the progress I’ve been making in my career. This way, when I make my meteoric rise to the top of the charts, they’ll have plenty of material to use to make my 3-D documentary/live concert movie.

Introducing “Saturday Morning Snack Attack!”

For about the last half of the year I’ve been working behind the scenes developing a comic book anthology  featuring a number of different short pieces and collaborating with a number of different artists. Now that things are full-steam ahead, I’m finally ready to reveal the project to the world.

The anthology is called Saturday Morning Snack Attack! and it features four snack-sized comic stories written by me and drawn by a different talented artist. Each story is short enough to read over a bowl of cereal and is meant to invoke the feeling of Saturday morning cartoons, but with an adult vibe.

Here’s a quick sneak peek at one of the stories from the anthology–“The Initiation” with art by Detroit artist Patrick Halpin. We see our Wolverine-parody, Wyldekat, trying to get a drink at the headquarters for the League of Mutants and Monstrosities. It turns out Wyldekat isn’t ugly enough to hang with this crew which includes a homunculus lawyer, a ninja pterodactyl and a living blob of goo.

It should be noted that the artwork is not completed and does not represent the final product. The book will be published in full-color instead of black-and-white.

The tentative release date for SMSA! is Fall 2012, so keep your eyes peeled!
